Generally we think that management meetings, indoor or even at offsite are heavy or loaded with too much Gyan.
With a fantastic weather outdoor and sitting in a locked room listening to management principles didn’t seem a fascinating idea initially.
But who knew these perceptions would shatter after this enthralling Offsite event of PSCC Delivery Infra management.
The first positive push was that it was a Thursday-Friday Weekday event , so the weekend was still intact J
Venue was decided as ‘Beaver Golden Field’ resort. Started receiving communication regarding this from our All-In-One all-rounder Mr. RR
The early morning 2 hour drive was a joy in itself.
Light rains , greenery around and scenery of many waterfalls
made us forget the bumpy ride through numerous
pothole filled roads of Pune.
The resort is nestled in a vale at the foothills of a mesa and on the banks of river Mula.
Due to rains the river was flowing to its full capacity and even trespassing on some of the area of the resort.
All around was nothing but lush greenery, the fresh leaves and grass didn’t leave a chance for anything else to be visible.
With tummies satisfied and freshness all around , it was a perfect setup to start on the journey of discovery and learning.
Though all were a bit reluctant to leave the fresh outdoors and gather in the conference room , still we knew that All-rounder RR would have come up with something interesting.
And Whoa! He didn’t disappoint us.
Our Directors , HRC , PMO and RR they got us engaged in such an interesting game that we hardly missed the weather outdoor.
We got divided into five teams , with a leader to lead each team. A set of tasks to be completed by the team and by the lead was the activity of the day. With certain tasks to be performed only during specific time windows while some before a set deadline, some required coordination with other teams which added the extra bit of challenge while completing them.
Some as interesting as catching a live insect to writing work instructions for adding 2 digit number, some as funny as making 20 pigs or collecting 10 different colored items , while some were tricky like wearing the Unique cap. Some tasks required a good deal of collaboration with other teams. The ‘Human Bowling’ with human pins and a human ball brought out the creative side in many of us.
The fun during the skits was unstoppable.
Now HOLD on..This wasn’t only about fun and game , all these activities had a purpose.
As the day turned to dusk and a welcome nip sets in as we gathered back for yet another beguiling time. The hidden talent of acting came out with an impact during the Dumb-charades game. With ‘Maar-Dala’ and many other fun items the mirth and fun was just unstoppable.
Accompanied by lip-smacking pakodas and scrumptious non-veg dishes the evening just kept on extending.
After dinner it was the time for singers to take the lead.
Navnath with his style of not just singing but explaining the song entertained us with his unique talent.
Shreyas with his yet another exceptional way to start a song from its Antara , actually created something as ‘Shreyas certification’ J
Sapan with his ever charming ways kept the entertainment on a high. Rahul, Priya, Lovelet , Zeenat, Anand, Danmal , Namrata , Somesh all pitched in.
Harsha was yet another unstoppable talent J Our leaders were no way behind on this front too . Sunil , Vineet , Anju , Nitesh were all singing and enjoying the old Hindi tunes.
It was almost 2:00 at night and still no one wanted to retire.
Finally it was time to retreat to our beds , to sleep perchance to dreams until the early rays of dawn bid us gently awake with a promise of another wonderful day.
The next day started with the famous , much talked – ‘Hadshi Temple trip’ finally materializing (?) (Atleast as per Anju :) :)
)
)
After the appetizing breakfast it was time for yet another engrossing day filled with activities.
The day was meant to reiterate - ‘ All Win All Lose’.
Again divided into five new teams , this time as per DTU and Line structure similar to the setup back in workplace.
The situations given were much near realistic as experienced at work. The chaos created by too many requests and changes bombarded at a time was almost a near work experience.
We all learnt big time that either we all win together or we all lose together.
By evening it was time to pack and get back to sweet home.
The lush green nature , the pleasing climate , the wonderful session was a bliss of time.
And we all departed, taking along sweet memories and a pact made to self - to take the learning back to workplace.
“All Win , All Lose” !!!
